#41 Inside the NitroPack Flywheel

Hi,
I just published a deep dive into NitroPack’s growth strategy.
It is a growth story that's more than just big numbers, it's a playbook of smart pivots, tough challenges, and savvy moves.
What started as a tiny plugin, NitroPack came out of nowhere, grew fast, and eventually got acquired by WP Engine.
NitroPack makes websites faster. It started at iSenseLabs and was one of many tools Mihail Stoychev and Georgi Petrov built while working on OpenCart extensions.
When they realized its potential, they spun off NitroPack as a standalone product in 2018. It never looked back, and in 2024, it was acquired by hosting giant WP Engine.
In this post, I break down their entire growth playbook, from early traction to scaling to 250k users and landing a big exit.
The real story of how they pulled it off is fascinating:
Built a premium reputation before going freemium.
Captialized on a major market shift (Google's Core Web Vitals).
Overcoming widespread community accusations that their product was "cheating."
There are a lot of lessons for early-stage founders in this playbook.
